So as you may have known, country cutie Kellie Pickler got married in Antigua on New Year's Day. Despite getting married on a beach against the sunset, she chose to wear an elegant couture wedding gown- and she rocked it! We're so thrilled to hear that not only did she wear a Badgley Mischka dress, but one that is carried in The White Dress !

I'll throw you over to Jasmine, owner and blogger extraordinaire of The White Dress to her blog post about Kellie Pickler's gorgeous wedding gown.

Nicole Ritchie's Extravagant Wedding

If you're like me, you love a great Hollywood wedding. It's so fun to see what flowers, venues, entertainment and (of course) wedding dresses brides choose when money is no object. Nicole's wedding was no exception. She didn't really go the vintage-bohemian wedding route, she went magical and big- elephant big. And good for her. Her wedding really represented her- fun, but elegant. You only do this day once (we hope) so stay true to who you really are and don't jump on the wedding trend of the year. You want to look at those wedding photos for years to come and be proud of your big day. Even Sarah Jessica Parker (a style icon to many) admitted (in 2002) that she regrets wearing a black cocktail dress on her wedding day back in 1997.

Nicole and Joel got married on December 11 at her father Lionel Ritchie's palatial Beverly Hills home.
Apparently, ever since she was a little girl, the only two things she wanted at her wedding was a dress inspired by Grace Kelly's famous gown and an elephant- for good luck. Nicole's father surprised her with that elephant! Nicole and Joel's son was the ring bearer and their daughter was the flower girl (nothing more heart warming than seeing a couple's children involved in the wedding ceremony).

Under an outdoor tent, a magical 'French Garden' theme housed the guests all evening. Nicole and Joel wanted an 'old-Hollywood glamorous' feel for the wedding and apparently they went all out for the decor- can't wait to see those photos.

Nicole wore 3 custom-made Marchesa gowns including one featuring a ball-gown skirt crafted from more than 100 yards of hand-draped silk organza and tulle petals.

Some of the most beautiful aspects of the wedding involved no money at all: Nicole walked down the aisle to her father's song "Ballerina Girl" and during the reception, Lionel Ritchie sung "You Are" to his baby girl and his new son-in-law. Wow.

Here are some photos for you to enjoy.

Sneak Peek at Hilary Duff's Wedding Photos

Remember how we said we hoped Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie will release official pictures of their wedding day? Well we got our hands on some of the photos that will be in OK magazine released on August 30th, yup, we're that goooooood.

We love everything about this wedding. Hilary and Mike had Mindy Weiss as their wedding planner which was a good thing because Hilary said she had only been to one other wedding before in her entire life so she really had no idea what she wanted. But let's be serious, the girl is very stylish and has grown up designing her own fashion line so we knew her wedding would not fall short of spectacularly stylish. Sunset ceremony, lush fabrics, huge blooms, sparkling jewels and soft candle light.... Love love love !

The dresses were breathtaking and echoed the soft, elegant feel of the evening. Vera Wang designed both the bride's dress and the bridesmaids dresses.

Hilary said she wanted a "deconstructed look" as opposed to prim and proper and perfect so Vera designed her an uber romantic yet stylish mermaid-type dress of blush silk tulle and organza. Vera coined it perfectly when she described it as "sexy garden party". Fun fact, Hilary decided at the last minute to wear a Vera Wang veil with her ensemble. Great choice !

Enjoy some of the photos now, but don't forget to pick up your issue of OK Magazine on August 30th to enjoy some more photos of this ridiculously stunning affair.

The Summer of Vera !

This has definitely been the summer of Vera Wang. Another one of her dreamy designs was seen on Hillary Duff this past weekend as she wed Canadian hockey player (and former Ottawa Senator) Mike Comrie. The two got married by candlelight in an outdoor evening ceremony in Santa Barbara. How romantic !

A witness was quoted as saying “It was one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever seen. Absolutely stunning. They thought of every last detail and it was an incredible sight”. We wedding planners love the details- it’s what your guests really pick up on that sets your wedding apart from others.

The pictures that have been leaked are grainy so we’re hoping the couple releases some officially so we can see Hillary’s gorgeous gown and all the elegant wedding day details.

And the Brides Wore...Vera !

Vera Wang had quite the weekend. Two celebrity brides wore her gowns to their weddings-two very different weddings, two very different brides, naturally; two very different dresses.

Chelsea Clinton got married on Saturday in front of 400 guests in Rhinebeck NY wearing two Vera Wang dresses. The dress she wore to the ceremony was
a gorgeous strapless silk organza gown with a draped tulle bodice and an embellished belt. After the ceremony, Chelsea changed into a tulle Grecian-inspired gown with a black ribbon belt and a criss-cross back for the reception.

Speaking of Grecian-inspired gowns, Grammy award winning songstress Alicia Keys married her music-producer boyfriend Swiss Beatz, in a super-private ceremony in the Mediterranean. Alicia glided down the aisle in a breathtaking ivory silk, Grecian-inspired gown designed by Wang just for her. Beautiful jewel detailing on the back of her dress was complimented by crystal-encrusted flat sandals and a gorgeous headband finishing off the 'Goddess' look.

The two dresses suited each bride, at each wedding perfectly. Wang to most is an artist, to those in the fashion industry; an inspiration, but to brides lucky enough to wear her creations, she is simply known as their 'fairy Godmother'.

Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood's Wedding Details

Under a tent, on a southern evening in Georgia, Mike and Carrie shared what their wedding planner referred to as "a spiritual expression of their love". Sounds like a fairytale Hollywood wedding... But despite the $500,000 price tag and a guest list of 250, there was no Hollywood influence or divas present at this wedding according to guests and hotel staff. Both Mike, Carrie and their guests were all down to earth, friendly and gracious. Carrie has said in past interviews regarding her wedding day, "it'll just be Carrie marrying Mike"....

One thing that could have given the wedding away as a 'celebrity wedding' was the amount of security around the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation beginning on Friday July 9. Maybe the G20 Summit organizers should have referred to Carrie and Mike or their wedding planner Jayne Bubis for their security needs. Or simply signed an exclusive agreement with People magazine which was the result of all the security.

People magazine is on news stands now with 13 glossy photos of the event. The article is actually quite small but let's be honest, we're all buying it for the photos anyways right?

We'll give you a run down of the article here:

- Carrie and Mike booked all 251 rooms at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation

- The local sheriff's office was hired to provide extra security for the wedding

- Guests received gift bags engraved with bible quotes

- Guests began arriving on Friday July 9 and that evening enjoyed lakeside cocktails (with fireworks!)

- Guests also enjoyed a golf and baseball tournament the day of the wedding (Saturday July 10)

- The bride wore 2 dresses designed by Monique Lhuillier. For the ceremony Carrie wore a Chantilly lace and silk organza gown with a cathedral length veil and a diamond tiara adorned with over 40 carats of diamonds which was a gift from Mike. For the reception, Carrie changed into a shorter sexier version of the ceremony gown

- Mike's jaw dropped and he 'teared up' when he first saw Carrie walk down the aisle

- Carrie walked down the aisle with her father to Wagner's "Bridal Chorus"

- Carrie's dog Ace (a rat-terrier) wore a pink tux and came down the aisle with the flower girl (Mike's cousin) and ring bearer (Carrie's nephew)

- The ceremony contained some of the couple's favourite bible passages

- Carrie could not wait to be pronounced husband and wife and when it was announced, all 250 guests erupted into applause which caused her dog Ace to "bark like mad" at Carrie and Mike

- The reception was held in the hotel ballroom of the Ritz Carlton and the room was dripping with 5,000 crystals and lit in various shades of pink. Mike exclaimed "There's pink everywhere!"

- Hors d'oeuvres included sushi and crispy risotto lollipops
- Placecards were silver hockey pucks

- Carrie surprised Mike for their first dance by hiring contemporary Christian singer Brandon Heath to perform "Love Never Dies", a song that according to Carrie is very special to them

- The guests were served a four course meal which included ravioli, fillet mignon and Canadian salmon

- Carrie ordered hundreds of buttermilk pies from a local bakery that "Southern Living" magazine has called one of the best pies in the southern United States

- In lieu of wedding cake, a cupcake tower was designed by one of Carrie's bridesmaids Ivey Childers (one of her other bridesmaids was her makeup artist) from IveyCake bakery in Franklin Tennessee

- Guests danced to everything from Lionel Ritchie to Guns N' Roses

- Late nights snacks of sliders and Kahlua shots kept guests dancing until 2am

- Carrie will change her name to Carrie Fisher, but will still use her maiden name professionally

- According to Carrie and Mike's wedding planner Jayne Bubis; "Carrie and Mike are just madly in love. They didn't leave each other's sides all night".... I think anyone in Ottawa could have told you that ;)

We're so happy for Mike and Carrie and hope they are enjoying their romantic honeymoon in Tahiti. Looking forward to seeing you both back 'home' in Ottawa.
