Save the Date for Something White for Something Right 2014!

After much thought, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our beloved fundraiser, Something White for Something Right, until November 2014.

2013 has been an eventful year for Marry Me Productions, both personally and professionally. In order to make Something White for Something Right the best event it can be, this was the best decision for all involved.

We want to thank everyone for their continued support of the event and we are so grateful for the steady stream of excited emails asking us when the next event will be. We hope you will keep those wedding dresses ready in your closets and book your calendars for November 1, 2014!

2014 will bring bigger and better things for Something White for Something Right! We are excited to have you join us as we continue to raise money to find a cure for breast cancer and support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, a cause near and dear to our hearts.

Keep tuned to the Something White for Something Right website for updates and follow Marry Me Productions on Facebook and Twitter for updates.

We will be offering early bird tickets for our 2014 event so if you want to be part of our mailing list when they become available, email Brianna at brianna@marrymeproductions.ca right away and we will keep you in the loop!

Thank you for all your support! And we will see you on November 1, 2014!

Xoxo

And the Brides Wore...Vera !

Vera Wang had quite the weekend. Two celebrity brides wore her gowns to their weddings-two very different weddings, two very different brides, naturally; two very different dresses.

Chelsea Clinton got married on Saturday in front of 400 guests in Rhinebeck NY wearing two Vera Wang dresses. The dress she wore to the ceremony was
a gorgeous strapless silk organza gown with a draped tulle bodice and an embellished belt. After the ceremony, Chelsea changed into a tulle Grecian-inspired gown with a black ribbon belt and a criss-cross back for the reception.

Speaking of Grecian-inspired gowns, Grammy award winning songstress Alicia Keys married her music-producer boyfriend Swiss Beatz, in a super-private ceremony in the Mediterranean. Alicia glided down the aisle in a breathtaking ivory silk, Grecian-inspired gown designed by Wang just for her. Beautiful jewel detailing on the back of her dress was complimented by crystal-encrusted flat sandals and a gorgeous headband finishing off the 'Goddess' look.

The two dresses suited each bride, at each wedding perfectly. Wang to most is an artist, to those in the fashion industry; an inspiration, but to brides lucky enough to wear her creations, she is simply known as their 'fairy Godmother'.

Did You Love Molly's Wedding Dress ?

We're assuming you saw Molly and Bachelor Jason's on-air wedding this month on ABC. We absolutely adored her $45,000 strapless Monique L'huillier gown. If the price isn't in your wedding day budget, we have some good news. We have found one very similar at the McCaffrey Haute Couture Flagship Boutique here in Ottawa.

It's the "Surreal" model (aptly named) from their newly released "Illumination" line that we recently blogged about. When we spoke with our contact at the McCaffrey flagship boutique, she told us that brides-to-be have fallen in love with it elsewhere too. When it was featured at the NYC trunk show, it was ordered by 7 Manhattan brides in one weekend.

You can pair the dress with layered diamond necklaces like Molly did, or keep it simple and draw the attention upwards with an almost-sheer cathedral length veil and very simple jewerly.

Visit McCaffrey Haute Couture at 465 Sussex Street or visit the dress on the McCaffrey Haute Couture Fan Page:

Sketch Me !

Wedding gowns are such a passionate and exciting purchase yet they hang in hiding before and after the wedding.
Why not remember it in the artistic way that it was designed and represented on you? Aboutthedress.com is a website where you can submit a variety of photos of yourself in your wedding dress and in 6-8 weeks, you receive an elegant, framed custom sketch of your dress that can be hung and admired for years to come. All for $425 (US). If that is too pricey try dreamlines.com
Feel a bit wierd hanging a sketched photo of your own dress? It's also a great anniversary gift to give a loved one including your sister, best friend, mother or even grandmother.
