Help Sandra choose her wedding gown for Something White

Something White for Something Right http://www.somethingwhite.ca/ brings you Sandra and Carter from the KISS FM morning show as our emcees for a second year. Sandra is taking time to choose the right wedding dress this year since last year’s loaner wasn’t her most comfortable gown ;)

So, on KISS FM’s Facebook page, she is asking their ‘fans’ to help her choose which dress to wear to Something White. Hundreds have voted already. Head over there yourself and cast your vote.

Let them Eat Cake

Actually, this cake was so pretty you didn't want anyone eating it !

The baker really enjoyed making it for our bride and groom Natasha and Mike

We'd rather direct you to her blog because she explains the process of making the cake much better than we could have.

If you are going to have a wedding cake at your wedding, keep in mind that it can be considered decor in it's own right. Which is why cakes are generally set on a separate table near the head table where all your guest's eyes will be.

Congrats Natasha and Mike and keep making those works of art Katie !

Julie & Brady's Long Awaited Wedding

We recently had the pleasure of working with Julie and Brady- a couple so adorable and detail oriented that it made them such a pleasure to come up with ideas with. Julie had been planning this wedding since she was young and you could tell because everything came together perfectly on their August 21st wedding day. She wanted a traditional wedding but peppered with some modern elements. The Chateau Laurier's Adam Room provided the classic elegance Julie was looking for and the modern details came in with elements such as the damask print linens (thanks Groovy Linen http://www.groovylinen.com/), the colourful candy favours, the pink decor and the funky yet delicate feather embellishments on Julie's wedding gown.

Enjoy married life Julie and Brady !

And to our blog readers, enjoy these stunning shots from our friends Sam and Mary http://www.samandmaryphotography.com/

Would you like a wedding with those fries ?

We love bringing you all things wedding-related... even the wacky. Enter the McWedding.

A McDonald's branch in Hong Kong has announced that they will begin hosting wedding services starting January 1 2011. The entire shin-dig will cost you about $260 US and a few side glances from McDonald's customers that will be chowing down on their meals since the McDonald's can not entirely close for the wedding service. Included in the wedding 'package' will be traditional menu options as well as wedding cakes made from burgers, apple pies or for the truly adventurous; Fillet-o-Fish.

The Director of corporate communications & relations in Hong Kong said that they decided to offer this service after receiving about 10 calls a month from couples who met or had their first date at the McDonald's.

Marry Me is all for any type of wedding theme but we're also fans of 'less is more' attitude. You love McDonald's or met your sweetheart at one? Why not have McDonald's bring in some of their famous burgers and fries for your midnight buffet ? or have your wedding favours be a dontation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Canada.

Wedding Dress Sale !

Don't fret, you didn't miss the grand opening at The White Dress. We will absolutely announce that in this blog (and Facebook and Twitter). This sale is coming to you from The Breast Dress Project which is something else Marry Me has our hand in ;)

If you didn't already know, The Breast Dress Project (TBDP) was a labour of love created by Jamie Johnston of Groovy Linen
http://www.groovylinen.com/ and Stacey Price of Marry Me Productions.
Jamie was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 33. Jamie endured chemotherapy for almost all of 2009 and in December when she finished her treatment, TBDP was launched as one of the many ways Jamie and Stacey are giving back- trying to make a difference in the lives of women.

The idea is you can drop off your gently used wedding dresses which TBDP will sell to current brides-to-be, giving the profits of each dress sale to The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation which raises money to fund research to find a cure for breast cancer.

It doesn't get any better than that: you're saving money, you're helping a fellow bride find her dream dress, you're being 'green' and your money is going to a great charity.

October is breast cancer awareness month so in honour of this, TBDP will be having a SALE on their current inventory on October 10 2010 (get it; 10-10-10).

The sale will take place at Groovy Linen's warehouse at 19 Grenfell Crescent (unit 12) from 9am-noon.

More exciting news! In anticipation of Something White for Something Right http://www.somethingwhite.ca/, TBDP will be 'renting' out their wedding dresses for $100 each for the evening, of course with all profits going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

So if you're a new bride looking for your wedding dress, or a guest of Something White this year, stop by Groovy Linen on Sunday October 10 from 9am-12pm to find the dress for you. The most exciting news of all ?? With every purchase, we're one step closer to finding a cure for breast cancer.

For more information on TBDP visit their website http://thebreastdressproject.ca/ or listen to Jamie and Stacey explain its importance in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqrUuKUGFww

Looking forward to seeing everyone there !
